The Kindergarten Talking Phonics Book is a rechargeable, screen-free learning book for children ages 4 and up. It uses child-friendly audio, writing activities, interactive buttons, and quizzes to help children practice letter sounds and early reading skills.
The book is designed for children ages 4 and up. It is especially helpful for preschoolers, kindergarteners, beginning readers, and children who need additional practice with letter sounds and writing.
The book helps children practice letter sounds, letter formation, visual letter cues, early reading skills, listening, and answering questions through interactive quizzes. The lessons are organized into 27 interactive lessons across five learning stages.
Slide the power switch on the side of the book to turn it on. Open to the page your child wants to use and press the Start button at the top of that page. The book will announce the selected page. Your child can then press the lesson buttons or use the quiz activity.
No. The book works without an app, Wi-Fi, internet connection, phone, or tablet. All the audio lessons and activities are built into the book.
No special phonics training is required. The built-in audio guides children through the lessons. Parents can help children get started and provide encouragement, while children can repeat activities at their own pace.
Yes. The book includes writing and tracing activities and comes with a wipe-clean marker. Follow the cleaning instructions provided with the book and use only an appropriate wipe-clean marker.
No disposable batteries are required. The book contains a built-in rechargeable battery and includes a USB charging cable.
Turn the book off before charging and use the included USB cable with a suitable 5V/0.5A USB power source, such as a computer USB port. A red light appears while the book is charging and turns off when charging is complete. Charging usually takes approximately two hours.
Do not use the book while it is charging, and do not leave it charging overnight. An adult should handle or supervise charging.

If your book stops working within the first 30 days after purchase, please contact us for a replacement—no questions asked.
After the first 30 days, your registered book remains covered for one year from the purchase date. We will replace a book that is no longer working; you will only be responsible for the applicable shipping costs.

The book has been tested for applicable US children’s product requirements, including ASTM F963 and CPSIA requirements, and has a Children’s Product Certificate. It is intended for children ages 4 and up and should be used according to the safety instructions included with the product.

What I really really like about these cards, is that they emphasize the sounds, the wh-, the fl-, etc. They are clean and sturdy and come in groups. There are rings to attach to each card packet (4 card packets), and you can flip them as you go. One of the hardest things I've come across when teaching my son to read is his sounds, but emphasizing it with the underline and showing him in different contexts has been helpful. He's pretty disdainful of any word cards, but we've still had success showing him the emphasized parts of the words. It's a really nicely packaged product and thoughtful in its process.
